All along the New England coast, lobster rolls are a staple food. I’ve eaten many delicious ones there (and some mediocre or not so great) — but NOTHING has ever compared to the sublime lobster creation that is the Lobster Bomb, at Ford’s Lobster in Groton, Connecticut.
They take a hot buttered sourdough bowl, pour in lobster bisque, put in a half-pound of fresh lobster, then top it off with more bisque. It’s pretty incredible!
It started as a simple hot dog cart years ago, evolving into a full seafood restaurant in a relaxing seaside setting, with outdoor seating. Get prepared for spring and summer and go to Ford’s to experience your lobster fix!
